Fore Noah Golf Tournament

So this past weekend found Brian and me in sunny Scottsdale for the
Fifth Annual
FORE NOAH Golf Tournament.

Noah Nelson is Brian's nephew and at 4 years old was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a solid-tumor cancer of the sympathetic nervous system. It is a very rare and very serious type of cancer that has a very low rate of survival for the children that are diagnosed. We are extremely lucky that 4 years later, Noah is growing like a normal 8 year old boy and his scans continue to come back clean.!!! His doctors are amazed at how well he is doing and as Andy and Lara, his parents, say, "No news is good news". Check out more about Neuroblastoma or make a gift!!!

This is Andy, Noah's dad, and the master of ceremonies for the day... He's awesome!Ms. Shelby , one of the cousins :-)

So the golf tourney raised a ton of money for Neuroblastoma research and we all had a great time!

It was pretty darn hot out, about 98, so I didn't end up staying too long... It really is amazing to me how these things affect me. I've always been a trooper, not really phased by a lot and pretty tough when it comes to everything... now I feel like a total weenie!!! I'm tired, I'm hot, I'm dizzy, I've got a headache... oy, a whole LIST of ailments... it's pretty frustrating and I am waiting for that second trimester excitement of feeling AWESOME. So far the second trimester? Not feeling so awesome.

Only two more days by the way until we find out what we are having. My friend Juliet just found out she is having a boy on Friday, so we can't WAIT to find out!!!

I'm starting to really get bigger as one of my co-workers came up to me today and was like... OH MY GOD what HAPPENED over the weekend???? I kind of exploded... :-)

Here are some more pics :-)
Me at 17 weeks.

Me at 17.5 weeks

Me at 18 weeks...
OH MY GOD, don't look at the double chin, it's actually just a really bad angle... promise :-)

San Diego Crew Classic

So April 5th found us celebrating the San Diego Crew Classic - Brunch by the Bay. This is an annual collegiate and masters regatta that Mom and I have been on the committee for, for about 6 years now. Pretty crazy. :-)

So this year, Mom was the chairman of the brunch (exciting for her) and everything went REALLY well. I was a LOT less involved than I have been in years past, probably because I wasn't really in the mood to spend a whole weekend rolling napkins and doing seating charts, when I could be napping and working on cooking the Kid.

Sunday came around though and was another HIDEOUSLY UGLY day in Southern California. :-) Brian and i made no rush to get to the Brunch this year, which was nice, since previous years had me there at 6:00am getting check-in set up. Instead, we strolled in at about 9:30am, right as the brunch was opening. It was a gorgeous day, the food was great, and I even managed to snag a few pics with Shamu! Of course, no cute pics of the hubby and me, but hey, I managed to get a few of the USC Trojan band. (They are loud and it seems that everyone at this damn regatta is a USC fan. Ugh)

We even made the society column in the next weeks paper! So fun! Brian was less than thrilled about it, but hey... it was a fun day. Although I have to say, a day much better enjoyed with a few glasses of champagne... that I REALLY missed this year. Ah well... only 6 months to go!

I was also outfitted in a fantastic outfit, courtesy of Mom... thanks for the awesome maternity clothes Mom!!!

Cats Out of the Bag

So to those who may or may not know already, Brian and I are expecting our first child in September!!! We are SO excited about the prospect of a new member of the Fitting clan and everyone has been GREAT so far, with advice and well wishes. :-)

I am currently 3 months along, and feeling MUCH better than I did even a few weeks ago. The general crankiness, tiredness, and overall pregnancy mania has pretty much calmed down and now I'm just kind of staring at my ever-expanding tummy. Pretty crazy. Especially for someone who has spent their whole life stressing about their weight... wow, is THIS a change :-) bring on the hamburgers!!!

All of our check ups have been great so far and the picture above was from our last check-up at 12 weeks. Baby Fitting has already started sucking it's thumb (our kid is already an overachiever) and even moved around for us. Of course, I think it was more in protest as the ultrasound tech pushed on it... it was like... CUT IT OUT LADY!!!

Probably the most surreal thing for me was seeing it move around and react to the outside stimulus. I was like... omg, it MOVES... kind of like that scene from Frankenstein... IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIVE... Kind of like that, but definitely cuter :-D

I have told my office (just happened on Monday), since the dwindling clothes supply has been making my "work wardrobe" a little limited. I think they were starting to suspect when I came into the office with the big wraps, the huge shirts and the pants that were WAY too tight. Oh joy. This kid seems to be helping me achieve middle age spread early.

I have my next appointment next week, I swear I'm going every 2 weeks for something or another (work loves me) and we will go to the perinatal clinic for our big reveal in about 1.5 months. I can't WAIT to find out what we are having!! There has been much speculation based upon my weight gain, my morning sickness (of which there wasn't much, knock on wood) and any other weird wives tale that people can think of. I'm just excited to find out so we can decorate the nursery!!!

Brian is SO excited and we can't wait to meet Baby Fitting in September!!!

I'll definitely keep everyone posted as things progress :-) So check back here!!!
