Quiet Weekend

So things are starting to settle down. We have finally gotten all of the presents opened and put away (for the most part anyway) and the house is slooooowly coming back into some semblance of order. It's interesting, because so many people have told me that once we got married, everything would change. Hrm, well, that doesn't seem to be the case yet. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing :-)

We like most of America are dealing with our own economic struggles. Two houses, a horrible housing market, a horrible market in general. I think that getting married and starting a life together at a time like this is extremely interesting and I hope can only make our relationship stronger as we try to muddle through a number of difficult issues. It definitely hasn't been easy though. I know that things will eventually even themselves out (hello econ major) but still, the topsy turviness of it all is extremely unsettling.

Things will also settle down once the end of the year comes around. Brian is still working almost 3 weeks out of the month and we're only seeing each other at this point for a few days. Again, something that will only get better and will only make us look back and realize how good we have it once it changes :-) I love him to pieces, so we will make it all work.

Kind of a maudlin report to everyone but I think at this extremely scary and unstable time in our economy and country, it can't help but be reflected back on the people that are living through it.
